Mettler Toledo's JB3002-G/A-F digital scale features 3100 grams maximum weighing capacity and increments in 0.01 gram divisions.  We work on the philosophy that "Pigs get fat and Hogs get slaughtered".  We would much rather make a few percent for a quick turn on merchandise than be a hog and make nothing at all.  We "sell" our merchandise and do not work on memorandum which enables us to operate on very small margins.

This electronic balance is legal for trade and offers a durable, die-cast aluminum construction.  Additional features include percent weighing and piece counting modes.  You may also connect Mettler-Toledo's JB3002 gram scale to a computer via RS232 interface which is standard equipment.  An RS232 cable and software are sold separately.  JB-3002 precision balance from Mettler Toledo weighs only in grams while in NTEP mode.  Additional weighing modes are available for weighing in Non-NTEP mode.

One can't compare balances like the more expensive Sartorius GW3202 which does not offer NTEP approval, a vital requirement in most states for jewelers selling gold by weight, The Mettler JB3002-G/A-F is an unbelievable buy that will keep you out of trouble if you are selling or buying preciuos metals by weight.  Investigators from the Arizona Department of Weights and Measures spend several days every year at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, where they checked scales used by dealers who were selling items by weight.   At the 2006 Tucson Gem and Mineral Show they confiscated 145 scales that were being used illegally because they did not conform to NTEP standards.

A&D's GX-2000 cost more money and only offers 2100 g maximum weighing capacity and a smaller 6.5 inch x 6.5 inch weighing platform.  A&D GX-2000 does not feature legal for trade certification, making Mettler Toledo's JB3002-G/A-F a much better value.  Why pay more money for a balance that offers less features?  Acculab's ALC series balances can't compare since none of their balances are legal for trade nor offer internal calibration.
