Ohaus Scout SJX622N/E NTEP Approved 6000d Class III Scale is brand new as of May 2016 and in stock ready to ship today. When the [a href="http://balance.balances.com/scales/200#LFT-Scales"]security switch is placed in the locked position[/a] as required for legal for trade weighing the Ohaus SJX622N/E has a maximum weighing capacity of 620 grams and the display increments in 0.1 gram divisions. When the security switch placed in the unlocked position (also called NON Legal for Trade mode) the Ohaus SJX622N/E has a maximum weighing capacity of 620 grams and the display increments in 0.01 gram divisions.

The SJX622N/E is marketed to the precious metal, specialty tea, leaf tobacco, herbal and spice industry when small quantities are sold by weight in either grams, ounces or pennyweight. Weights & Measurements Inspector require a legal for trade scale for use in commercial applications when product is sold by weight. When the security switch placed in the locked position "d"(value of scale division) and the "e" (value of verification scale division) are both 0.1 grams.

Easy-to-use four-button operation along with a low profile housing measuring 8.8 x 8.0 x 3.5 inches while offering a large 4.7 inch diameter weighing platform are big selling points. The scale operates on either AC Adapter or four(4) standard AA batteries (not included) for complete portability. Select from multiple connectivity options available for data logging and communication. Ohaus offers expanded connectivity options including [a href="http://scaleman.com/ohaus-scout-spx-rs232-interface.html"]RS232[/a], [a href="http://scaleman.com/ohaus-scout-digital-scale-usb-host-interface-kit.html"]USB Host[/a], [a href="http://scaleman.com/ohaus-scout-spx-usb-interface.html"]USB Device[/a], [a href="http://scaleman.com/ohaus-scout-digital-scale-ethernet-interface.html"]Ethernet[/a] and [a href="http://scaleman.com/ohaus-scout-spx-bluetooth-interface.html"]Bluetooth module[/a] making the Ohaus Scout SJX the most versatile portable digital scale on the market today for data logging and communications.

The Scout SJX Series is equipped with a large backlit display, fast stabilization time, multiple weighing units, application modes and offers a truly user-friendly weighing experience. The superior mechanical overload protection system of the Scout is comprised of a high-strength stainless steel pan and an impact-resistant plastic pan support. This enables the balance to safely withstand loads up to 10 times its rated capacity.

For years people screamed about the design of the [a href="http://scaleman.com/digital-scale-ek-600i-weighing-scale.html"]AND EK600i scale[/a] and how you needed to purchase [a href="http://scaleman.com/ekw09i-battery-pack-weighing-scale-accessory.html"]A&D proprietary design rechargeable battery[/a] that would cost you over $200 just for the battery. Well Ohaus heard those complaints and we anticipate selling a lot less EK600i this year and a lot more Scout SJX622N/E. For even a better value we recommend the [a href="http://scaleman.com/ohaus-sjx1502ne-legal-for-trade-class-ii-ntep-approved.html"]Ohaus Scout SJX1502N/E[/a] since you'll get a larger weighing platform and greater weighing capacity for a few pennies more.

The Ohaus Scout SJX622 electronic scale meet the requirements for a legal for trade scale as a Class III weighing device defined in Handbook 44. All this information can be verified by downloading the CofC # [a href="http://scaleman.com/aitdownloadablefiles/download/aitfile/aitfile_id/1867/" target="_blank"]16-015[/a] so you can printout this certificate to check with your Weights & Measurements Inspector if they will allow you to use the SJX622 for your particular weighing application. The SJX622 is NOT recommended for any medical marijuana dispensaries or jewelry/precious metals weighing applications in states like Minnesota that require pawnshops weighing gold and silver to increment in 0.01 gram graduations. Remember once you slide the [a href="http://balance.balances.com/scales/200#LFT-Scales"]security switch in the locked position[/a] the SJX622N/E display will only show 0.1 gram graduations.

If you haven't noticed scale manufacturers price digital scales for the jewelry market for a lot less verses to the laboratory market. If you were planning on buying the [a href="http://scaleman.com/ohaus-spx422-hundredth-of-a-gram-scale.html"]Ohaus Scout SPX422[/a] or [a href="http://scaleman.com/ohaus-spx622-scout-digital-scales.html"]Ohaus SPX622[/a] we can sell you the Scout SJX622N/E for a lot less money. For the laboratory or school chemistry classroom as long as you leave the security switch in the unlocked position the Scout SJX622N/E will display in 0.01 grams increments.

Beware of other vendor's trying to sell you the Ohaus TAJ Series telling you it is a gold scale like the models TAJ203, TAJ202, TAJ402 or TAJ602 since none of these TAJ models are NTEP Approved. Also other dishonest vendors telling you to buy the Ohaus SPJ Jewelry Scales like the SPJ202/US, SPJ402/US or SPJ602/US since they have a special and a super deal. Do they tell you none of the SPJ models are at NTEP Approved and also the SPJ is discontinued and what is left for a warranty?? It is not worth playing games if you are using the scale for a commercial weighing application since Weights & Measures Inspectors are not going to let you use an Ohaus TAJ or SPJ and many times you can get a hefty fine for not using the correct scale. Plus when you add the SJX622N/E to the shopping cart the price will be a lot lower than $346.50 (Ohaus has a MAP preventing us for advertising the true selling price until you add to cart). Finally the SJX622N/E offers more features, better electronics and more weighing capacity than the TAJ or SPJ.

If you downloading the CofC # [a href="http://scaleman.com/aitdownloadablefiles/download/aitfile/aitfile_id/1867/" target="_blank"]16-015[/a] and look in the "Standard Features and Options" section you will see the Ohaus Scout SJX622 uses a Mettler Toledo 30254251 strain gauge load cell. Equipped with superior weighing technology from this Mettler load cell it delivers fast repeatable, reliable weighing results with a stabilization time as fast as 1 second resulting in quick results and increased efficiency.

The large backlit LCD provides operators a clear view of their weighing results. The optional [a href="http://scaleman.com/ohaus-scout-30269019-auxiliary-display-kit.html"]auxiliary display kit (Ohaus part # 30269019)[/a] is an affordable solution for those states specified by Weights & Measures Inspectors to have a secondary display so the customer can see in real time. Typical this is referred to as "Direct Sales" - both buyer & seller are present and the scale needs to be positioned in such a way that the scale is in full view and the scale display can easily be read by both parties. Always check with your local Weights & Measures Inspectors for exactly all the requirements you must meet since some inspectors follow the rule exactly while other inspectors are very lenient.

To seal the device, a wire security seal may be threaded through tabs in a sliding cover and the base housing on the bottom of the scale. Alternately, a destructible sealing label may be affixed to the sliding cover and the base housing. When the sliding cover is sealed in the locked position, access to the calibration switch inside the housing is prevented. Remote calibration and configuration are also blocked when the device is sealed.

The Ohaus SJX Scales also feature adjustable feet and level bubble to help level your digital scale to provide the most accurate weighing results.

[a href="http://balance.balances.com/scales/200#ohaus%2Bscales"]See the entire line of Ohaus SPX (NON-NTEP) and SJX (NTEP Approved) scales HERE[/a]. In the youtube video above we compare the A&D EK1200i, Ohaus Scout SJX1502 & Citizen CZ1200. All 3 models are NTEP Approved Class 2 weighing devices. The A&D EK1200i and Citizen CZ1200 have a maximum weighing capacity of 1200 grams and increments in 0.1 grams. The Ohaus Scout SJX1502N/E has a maximum weighing capacity of 1500 grams and the "d"(value of scale division) is 0.01 grams and the "e" (value of verification scale division) is 0.1 grams. You'll notice the last digit is boxed on the Ohaus scale. Watch how to Calibrate the Ohaus Scout SJX1502NE digtal scale. We perform a 2 point span calibration. A span calibration resets the scale’s weighing range using two weight values: zero and a weight value at or near the digital scale’s capacity. We also demonstrate linearity calibration uses a 3 point calibration. Linearity calibration minimizes deviation between actual and displayed weights within the scale’s weighing range. Three weight values are used: zero, a weight value within the scale's weighing range which is set to 1000g, and a weight value at or near the balance’s specified capacity which is preset at 1500g.
