The wheeled platform and handle-bar column is an ergonomic design that allows moving without lifting the scale, and the durable slip-resistant polyurethane wheels can be easily locked to keep the scale securely in place. Standard Features Include:
Ohaus Defender 3000 is the most basic of the Defender Series and some of the features you might expect aren't there. Defender 3000 series scales by Ohaus are NOT legal for trade, however the Defender 5000 and 7000 series are legal for trade. Defender's auto-off will turn off the scale after a certain amount of time, causing the scale to lose the information like pre-tare values. For example, if you work at a deli and a customer asks for a pound of turkey and you place paper on the scale, tare the scale, and leave for five minutes to cut the turkey, when you come back, the auto-off feature will have turned off the scale and erased your tare of the paper, making it necessary to repeat the tare of the paper. In addition, printing is not given using GLP (Good Lab Practice), but the Defender 5000/7000 scales do print using GLP. In this market, people are learning to do more with less and therefore, with all these features missing, it doesn't matter because the price is so much less.
