Ranger Counting Scales are made in Germany. Why pay $100's more for the Mettler-Toledo VIPER Basic Count Scale when practically all the the Ranger Count Scale's components come directly from Mettler. About the only difference is a different label on the outside of the scale and Ohaus installed their own embedded software which controls how the scale functions. Ohaus RC30LS has two different weighing resolutions depending on how the digital scale is configured (66.1 lb x 0.002 lb / 30 kg x 0.001 kg default resolution) or (60 lb x 0.01 lb / 30 kg x 0.005 kg Certified resolution). Ohaus Ranger counting scales have been upgraded and expanded with new software and enhanced microprocessors for even better performance in demanding industrial applications. Every Ranger count scale features a large, backlit LCD display with fast display of weighing results within 2 seconds, as well as a RS232 port for quick connectivity to printers and systems. For use in applications requiring additional filtering, the Ohaus Ranger digital scales now includes dynamic weighing software allowing weigh determination where vibration is an issue. For advanced counting applications, the Ohaus Ranger Count Plus offers a numeric keypad for manual entry of key data like average piece weight (APW), sample size and part ID, and information stored in 100 memory locations.

Ohaus Ranger electronic counting scales can count into an empty container, starting with a sample. For bulk operations, the user can count out of a full container, starting with the removal of a sample. Ohaus Ranger parts counting scale includes software to ensure optimization of the APW sample (with selectable accuracies of 97.5%, 99% and 99.5%) and can be set to continue to optimize the APW during the counting process. Set sample sizes can be selected or the user can use a variable sample size to start counting, speeding use. The Ranger digital counting scale also can be set to clear the APW between containers, ensuring that each container starts with a new APW sample.

For use in a range of industrial applications, the Ohaus Ranger scales includes software for Filling/Dosing, allowing weighing of fine powders or liquids. For use with moving or unstable items, the Ranger Count can be set to weigh dynamically, providing an average of the item's weight over time. The Ranger Count can display the gross, net and tare weights stored in memory for checking tare weights during use.

Please note the Ranger Counting Scales must be purchased with the optional rechargeable battery if you want to place the counting scale on a cart and not be restricted to plugging the RC30LS into an AC receptacle. For this reason many people select the A&D HC or HD Series Counting Scales that operate on either AC adapter or six (C type) alkaline batteries and the indicators separates from the base so you'll also be able to read the display.
