Pioneer high accuracy series of analytical and precision balances offer affordability that is hard to find in a quality balance. Ideal for laboratories that do not want to pay additional money for features such as internal calibration, but still want a top of the line lab balance from a quality brand such as Ohaus.
Ohaus Pioneer PA114 analytical balance weighs up to 110 grams in 0.0001 gram increments. Parts counting and percent weighing modes are some of the features included in the new Ohaus Pioneer Series of economic lab balances. Choose from 3 analytical balances available in the Ohaus PA series with capacities ranging from 65 to 210 grams.
Ohaus Pioneer analytical balance was designed for basic routine weighing in a variety of laboratory, industrial and education applications. With the right combination of performance and features, the Ohaus Pioneer offers uncomplicated performance for all your basic weighing needs.
Standard Features Include:
- Easy to Clean Analytical Draftshield – Pioneer’s draftshield is designed with all glass panels, including three sliding doors. All panels are easy to remove and replace, and together with a stainless steel bottom, make it fast and easy to clean
- Upfront Level Indicator – Pioneer has been designed with an up-front level indicator, so that users can quickly ensure the balance is level prior to use
- Selectable Environmental Settings – Three filter modes and adjustable zero tracking adjust balance sensitivity to environmental disturbances, or application requirements
When the Ohaus PA114 balance is first installed, or is moved to another location, the lab balance must be calibrated to ensure accurate weighing results. The Ohaus PA114 requires the purchase of a optional external 100 gram calibration weight
to perform calibration. We always recommend that you purchase the calibration weight when you purchase the balance. You can learn more about calibration weights, class weights and the tolerances at calibrationweight.com
Before you make your final selection be sure to see the Scientech ZSA Series
featuring 80 to 210 gram with 0.1mg resolutions. When US government customers call us saying the must comply with the Buy American Act clause the only similar balance we offer to the PA114 that is made in America would be the Scientech ZSA120
. FAR Part 25.003 requirements state that domestic end products are preferred over foreign end products, and the Ohaus Pioneer is not made in the USA. Before purchasing any analytical balance, be sure you review the new AND HR-100A or HR150A designed with a removable, shatterproof breeze break with antistatic coating perfect for challenging weighing applications where contamination is a potential concern. Plus the small 8 x 12 inch footprint design saves you space. Finally, the AND HR-100A offers a 5 year warranty while the Ohaus PA114 is only 2 years.

Below are some videos of a new analytical balance Sartorius just introduced to the market that offers extreme value.
Sartorius Entris analytical balances display increments in 0.002 grains divisions. Long-range competitive shooters (600+ yards) always shoot for an edge over their rivals and one way is to shoot very uniform ammo. Weighing charges, bullets and primers to 0.002gn can make shot velocities more uniform within a shot string. Forget those inconsistent low cost strain gauge scales that weigh the same charge differently each time. If you want to win the competition you need every round to the exact kernel.
In the video above we will walk you through the steps to change the default factory setting of grams to grains. once you make these changes your balance will power up each time in the grains mode. In this demonstration we use the Entris224-1S, but the steps are the same for all Satorius Entris models.
In the video above we demonstrate the Sartorius Entris224-1S analytical balance and how easy calibration is when you purchase the optional calibration mass. The Satorius Entris 4 decimal place balances offer a large draftshield with 3 sliding doors. See the quick settling time as we place calibration weights
on the weighing platform. Get a better understanding of what each keypad does and how you can enter into the balance configuration menu to change the factory default setting to better meet your specific weighing requirements. The Sartorius Entris is easy to configure to optimize for your individual weighing application.
