The Ohaus SP6000 IS BEING DISCONTINUED and Ohaus is halting shipping the SP6000 effective December 30, 2015. We can accept orders up to 12/29/2015. Don't worry there is a replacement and it is the brand new [a href="http://scaleman.com/ohaus-scout-spx8200-gram-scale.html"]Ohaus Scout SPX8200[/a] and we would recommend you delay your purchase until January 4, 2016, since the [a href="http://scaleman.com/ohaus-scout-spx8200-gram-scale.html"]Scout SPX8200[/a] is a much better digital scale. Once 2016 arrives all information displayed herein is for archival and support purposes only. The information on this web page is for reference only since again Ohaus is ending the sale of the Scout SP6000 starting 2016. See the entire [a href="http://scaleman.com/catalogsearch/result/?order=relevance&dir=desc&q=ohaus+spx"]Ohaus Scout SPX line HERE[/a].
Ohaus Scout Pro SP6000 offers 6000g weighing capacity with readability to 1 grams.

Designed for use in laboratory, industrial or education applications, the Ohaus Scout Pro continues the tradition set by the Ohaus Scout and Scout II products. Featuring easy-to-use two-button operation, a high-contrast LCD display, multiple weighing units and the option of either RS232 or USB connectivity (the interface is a $107 optional accessory) the Scout Pro is the portable balance for you!

When the Ohaus SP6000 gram scale is first installed, and when it is moved to another location, it must be calibrated to ensure accurate weighing results. Span calibration uses two calibration points, zero and a 6000 grams calibration weights. Either a [a href="http://scaleman.com/scale-calibration-weight-5kg.html"]5kg[/a] with a [a href="http://scaleman.com/cylindrical-1000g-calibration-weight.html"]1kg mass[/a] or two(2) 3kg or three(3) [a href="http://scaleman.com/stainless-steel-2kg-balance-test-weight.html"]2 kilogram weights[/a] or any combination yielding 6000 grams.

For even a better calibration you can perform a linearity calibration uses three calibration points; zero, mid-scale ([a href="http://scaleman.com/class-2-3kg-calibration-mass.html"]3000g[/a]) and full scale(6000g). The Ohaus SP6000 default calibration is span calibration but if you enter the S.E.T.U.P. Menu and select "Lin Cal" you can perform linearity calibration. No calibration weights come with the SP6000 so you would need to purchase the [a href="http://calibrationweight.com/"]calibration weights[/a] separately.

If price is absolutely the #1 issue and you are in search of the lowest cost 1g digital scales then we have a couple of other digital scales that are made in China. These gram scales do not have all the bells and whistles included in an Ohaus SP6000, but the price is much less. For our customers seeking a simplified digital portable scale, with less features we recommend the My Weigh's [a href="http://balance.balances.com/scales/275"]KD7000 gram scale[/a] (7000g x 1g) or the [a href="http://balance.balances.com/scales/263/"]ECS-10KG Electronic Compact Scale 10000g x 1g[/a] that is priced much, much less than the Ohaus SP6000.

If you are a jeweler or pawn shop and were told by a Weights & Measures Inspector that you need a [a href="http://legalfortrade.balances.com/and/legalfortrade.html"]Legal for Trade[/a] Class II Scale the Ohaus SP6000 is NOT Legal for Trade and we recommend you purchase the [a href="http://balance.balances.com/scales/769/"]A&D EK-6000i[/a] or [a href="http://balance.balances.com/scales/205/"]Mettler Toledo JL6001-GLA01[/a] digital scale.

Ohaus Scout Pro full line of precision scales can be found [a href="http://balance.balances.com/scales/272#scales"]here.[/a]

The [a href="http://scaleman.com/my-weigh-i5500-precision-digital-electronic-scale.html"]MyWeigh i5500[/a] offers 0.1 gram readability while the Ohaus SP6000 reads only in 1 gram increments. The My Weigh ibalance i5500 is an amazing digital scale that will cost you less money than the Ohaus SP6000 if you are willing to sacrifice some weighing features.
