Sartorius Extend ED153 has been discontinued and no longer in production as of May 2013. We have no remaining stock on the ED153.

The Sartorius Extend ED line was phased-out and replaced with the Sartorius [a href="http://scaleman.com/milligram-balance.html"]Practum213-1S[/a], [a href="http://scaleman.com/sartorius-quintix-213-milligram-balance.html"]Quintix 213-1S[/a] or [a href="http://scaleman.com/milligram-balance-scale.html"]Secura 213-1S[/a]. The Secura, Quintix and Practum balances introduced in 2013 featured an entirely new cutting edge design offering with a touch screen display with graphical user interface. These new touch screen balances are very nice and offer advanced weighing applications, but they are also expensive and for some people they prefer tactile keypad buttons over a touchscreen. In February 2014 Sartorius brought to the marketplace the [a href="http://scaleman.com/sartorius-entris-milligram-balance.html" title="Sartorius ENTRIS153-1S milligram balance"]Sartorius ENTRIS153-1S milligram balance[/a] which is the same platform, housing, weigh sensor and embedded software as the Sartorius Extend. The Entris features a new display overlay, new microprocessor and now is RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant. The overall operation of the Extend and Entris are the same.

We have no remaining stock on the ED153 and all information displayed herein is for archival and support purposes only.

The Sartorius ED153 milligram balance is perfect for all kinds of different weighing applications including animal, chemical, and formulation. Sartorius ED153 college balance has a weighing capacity of 150 grams, and readability to 0.001 grams. The ED153 is external calibration only and requires the purchase of an [a href="http://scaleman.com/lab-balance-100g-calibration-mass.html"]optional 100g calibration weight[/a]. You can purchase the ED153-CW if you require motorized internal calibration, making calibrating your balance is as simple as 1-2-3. You can read more about the Sartorius [a href="http://scaleman.com/internal-calibrated-digital-scale.html"]ED153-CW HERE[/a].

This digital balance has a useful hanger port allow for below weighing of magnetic material or large lightweight objects that can't fit on the weighing pan. Density determination is also possible when purchase with an optional density determination kit, allowing you to figure out the density of many different samples.

Sartorius Extend Balances include advance application programs including counting, percent weighing, animal weighing / averaging, net-total formulation, mass unit conversion and more. The ED153 makes a great student milligram balance for almost any chemistry high school weighing situation.

Extend milligram balance comfort zone: a simple, easy-to-understand control panel, key function assignments and the easy-to-read display are ideal for efficient weighing in your lab. User-friendly operation: short, plain-English text prompts and cursor keys for navigation make it simple for you to configure the balance to meet your individual requirements. Outstanding readouts thanks to the backlit and high-contrast display (height of digits: 15 mm). The level indicator is positioned conveniently right next to the display so that checking whether the balance is level becomes "second nature" to the operator.

Sartorius products are manufactured with ISO9001 standards and have the CE mark. Sartorius has been proving their trustworthiness thanks to their top-of-the-line technology that ensures maximum accuracy. Sartorius begin building balances in 1871 and holds the Guinness Book of World Record for the most accurate balance in the world. When you have an excellent reputation and image in the technologically sophisticated field of weighing metrology there is no question Sartorius should be your only choice.

Is the ED153 too expensive for your budget? People call us all the time asking for alternatives and the answer is the [a href="http://scaleman.com/ammo-reloading-scale-fx-200i.html"]AND FX-200i (220g x 1mg)[/a] or [a href="http://scaleman.com/fx300i-milligram-balance.html"]FX-300i (320g x 0.001g)[/a].

Sartorius typically has no inventory so it is probably best that you call us prior to placing an order so we can check if there is stock. Sartorius business model is "build to order" with a typical lead time 7-10 days. If you can work with these lead times place the order online, but if you cannot work with these lead times it is best to call us and we can tell you what is in stock. We do stock the [a href="http://scaleman.com/ammo-reloading-scale-fx-200i.html"]AND FX-200i (220g x 1mg)[/a] or [a href="http://scaleman.com/fx300i-milligram-balance.html"]FX-300i (320g x 0.001g)[/a] if you need a milligram balance shipped today.

We understand purchasing an [a href="http://www.precision-balance.com/"]precision balance[/a] is a major capital expense and if you have any questions give us a call and one of our weighing experts can discuss your weighing application and get you the most affordable balance for your weighing needs. In the video above we offer an overview of the components of the Entris milligram balance and how to assemble. Calibration is simple using an optional external calibration mass. We demonstrate the fast response time, repeatable weighing results and features like the leveling bubble, adjustable feet, RS-232 interface and more. In the video above we walk you through the menu configuration settings & how to enable or disable weighing applications. The factory default is "weigh" and the weight unit is set to grams only. Easily change this to "Unit" allowing you to toggle an additional 4 weighing units, "Count" for parts counting plus the ability to configure a desired reference sample quantity from 1 to 10, "Percent" for percent weighing proportional to a reference weight commonly used in formulation especially ink mixing, "Animal Weighing" for weighing live insects or small critters, or "Density" for density determination and specific gravity.

See how to configure the Sartorius Entris precision balance changing the factory default setting for the primary weigh unit of grams to pounds. We'll walk you through the steps so you can configure your Entris balance to toggle up to 4 additional different weight units In the video above we offer a general overview of the Sartorius Entris precision lab balance. We highlight the features, functions and operation of the Sartorius Entris precision balance. See some of the available accessories for the Sartorius Entris like the optional [a href="http://scaleman.com/sartorius-ydp20oce-scale-printer.html"]data printer[/a], [a href="http://scaleman.com/serial-sartorius-rs232-electronic-balance-connector.html"]RS232 cable[/a], [a href="http://scaleman.com/balances/calibration-weights.html"]calibration weights[/a] and weighing below hook. In the video above we show you the excellent eccentric loading characteristics of the Sartorius Entris Balances. See as a calibration weight is placed in the center of 4 quadrants on the platform how the Sartorius Entris measures the weight accurately. Not all digital balances weigh accurately and if you own a laboratory balance other than Sartorius we doubt it compares to the Sartorius Entris. If you own an older Sartorius balance or someone tries to give you a deal on a used or discontinued Sartorius balance just forget it and buy the Entris.

To test eccentric loading we place a weight on the center of the weighing platform and record the weight. Now place the same item in 45-degree directions (front left, front right, rear right, and rear left) and compared to the measurement at the center. Compare the weighing results and if you have eccentric errors it just might be time to retire that balance and purchase a new Sartorius Entris.
