Caveat Emptor to anyone wanting to use the A&D EK2000i in the field where you don't have access to an AC power receptacle. We received complaints from customers that bought the A&D EK-i Series since the A&D does not run off of standard batteries, but instead you must buy A&D special NiMH Battery Pack. Yep it is crazy in a day when you can go buy 4 - AA NiMH rechargeable batteries at Walmart for under $20 A&D designs their scale so you can only use their expensive NiMH Battery Pack.
The A&D EKi Series digital scales are great compact electronic scales, but often times, our customers are looking for a lower cost digital scale. If you don't require Legal for Trade you really should review the following models: MyWeigh i2600 (2600g x 0.1g) or i5500 (5500g x 0.1g), Acculab VIC-3101 (3100g x 0.1g) or our newest low cost digital scale the EPB-3K (3000 x 0.1) or EPB-6K (6000 x 0.1). These models are all priced much less than the EK2000i and operate on either AC Adapter or the normal batteries we are all use to using.
