Ohaus Pioneer PA3102 precision balance weighs up to 3100 grams and increments in 0.01 gram divisions. That is weighing sensitivity to a hundredth of a gram. Ohaus Pioneer digital scale is ideal for basic weighing applications, but also features percent weighing and parts counting modes. Ohaus Pioneer scales only offers external calibration, so if you prefer internal calibration, you should look at one of our other balances. Motorized internal calibration drives up the price of digital balances substantially. We encourage people to buy balances without internal calibration not only because they are more affordable, but because external calibration is the only way to truly calibrate a balance.
Ohaus Pioneer series has lab balances for all sorts of weighing applications. Whether you need a readability of 0.1 g, 0.01 g, 0.001 g or 0.0001 g, there is a Pioneer balance model for your weighing application. Pioneer electronic scales were designed to offer a quality laboratory balance at an affordable price.
Standard Features Include:
- Up front Level Indicator – Pioneer has been designed with an up-front level indicator, so that users can quickly ensure the balance is level prior to use
- Selectable Environmental Settings – Three filter modes and adjustable zero tracking adjust balance sensitivity to environmental disturbances, or application requirements
When the Ohaus PA3102 digital scale is first installed, or is moved to another location, the electronic balance must be calibrated to ensure accurate weighing results. The Ohaus PA3102 requires the purchase of a optional external 2 kilogram calibration weight to perform calibration. We always recommend that you purchase the calibration weight when you purchase the balance. You can learn more about calibration weights, class weights and the tolerances at calibrationweight.com
Is the Ohaus PA3102 too expensive for your budget? Many people call us looking for the absolute best value in a quality balance that Precision Weighing Balances can offer in a precision balance and the answer again and again is the A&D FXi precision scales. We believe the value is unmatchable in the AND Weighing FX3000i since you get lightening fast weighing results, 3200 grams weighing capacity with 0.01 grams readability plus a 5 year limited manufacturer warranty at a low price than the PA3102. The A&D FX-3000i is made in Korea while the Ohaus PA3102 is made in China. Both are good digital scales you need to weighing the differences in your buying decision.
We can also offer you the A&D Weighing FX-5000i (5200g x 0.01g) priced substantially less than the Ohaus PA3102.
Looking for a balance that comes standard with a USB interface? Be sure to see the new Sartorius Practum 2102-1S, Quintix 3102-1S precision balance. or the advanced Secura 3102-1S for pharma applications. These Sartorius models feature a touch screen user interface for easy balance configuration.
US government customers call us saying the must comply with the Buy American Act clause the only similar balances we offer to the PA3102 that are made in America would be the Scientech SL3000. FAR Part 25.003 requirements state that domestic end products are preferred over foreign end products, and the Ohaus Adventurer is not made in the USA.
We understand purchasing an precision balance is a major capital expense and if you have any questions give us a call and one of our weighing experts can discuss your weighing application and get you the most affordable balance for your weighing needs.
Below are some videos of other lab balances we offer. The new Sartorius Entris3202-1S just introduced to the market that offers extreme value.
In the video above we walk you through the menu configuration settings & how to enable or disable weighing applications. The factory default is "weigh" and the weight unit is set to grams only. Easily change this to "Unit" allowing you to toggle an additional 4 weighing units, "Count" for parts counting plus the ability to configure a desired reference sample quantity from 1 to 10, "Percent" for percent weighing proportional to a reference weight commonly used in formulation especially ink mixing, "Animal Weighing" for weighing live insects or small critters, or "Density" for density determination and specific gravity.
See how to configure the Sartorius Entris precision balance changing the factory default setting for the primary weigh unit of grams to pounds. We'll walk you through the steps so you can configure your Entris balance to toggle up to 4 additional different weight units
In the video above we offer a general overview of the Sartorius Entris precision lab balance. We highlight the features, functions and operation of the Sartorius Entris precision balance. See some of the available accessories for the Sartorius Entris like the optional data printer, RS232 cable, calibration weights and weighing below hook.
In the video below we show you the excellent eccentric loading characteristics of the Sartorius Entris Balances. See as a calibration weight is placed in the center of 4 quadrants on the platform how the Sartorius Entris measures the weight accurately. Not all digital balances weigh accurately and if you own a laboratory balance other than Sartorius we doubt it compares to the Sartorius Entris. If you own an older Sartorius balance or someone tries to give you a deal on a used or discontinued Sartorius balance just forget it and buy the Entris.
To test eccentric loading we place a weight on the center of the weighing platform and record the weight. Now place the same item in 45-degree directions (front left, front right, rear right, and rear left) and compared to the measurement at the center. Compare the weighing results and if you have eccentric errors it just might be time to retire that balance and purchase a new Sartorius Entris.
