Ohaus Pioneer PA124C features weighing, parts counting, percent weighing, animal weighing a density determination weighing functions. An optional density kit is available or use the built-in weigh below hook allowing you to suspend an item below the balance to calculate density/specific gravity.
All models are built on a solid metal diecast base and use a magnetic force restoration weigh sensor, not a cheap strain gauge that is prone to drifting with the numbers on the display moving even though you added nothing to the weighing platform. We get so many calls from end users saying they purchased some no name brand made and they hate their balance since it is a strain gauge. If you don't understand then watch this video HERE demonstrating a magnetic force restoration balance verses strain gauge scale.
The large draftshield features sliding top and side doors. To address the ease of cleaning requirement often expressed by routine users, Pioneer's draftshield has been designed with easy to remove doors and panels. Disassembly takes just seconds and all components including the balance housing can be quickly wiped clean.
Periodic cleaning made easy helps avoid sample contamination and extends product life. In addition, a standard in-use cover provides added protection against accidental spillage and helps minimize the chance of damage to the display and keypad.
Should breakage occur, each replacement door or panel can be installed in seconds. A standard in-use cover provides added protection against accidental spillage.
Pioneer has been designed with an up-front level indicator, so that users can quickly ensure the balance is level prior to use. Selectable environmental settings to help adapt the balance to real life working conditions, Pioneer is designed with selectable environmental settings. When working in harsh environments, the balance can be adjusted to compensate for vibrations and other disturbances. Conversely, the balance can be adjusted for working in slow filling applications where sensitivity is a must.
The Ohaus PA124C is NOT Legal for Trade If you are using a weighing device for commercial transactions (money changes hands based on a scale's reading) you will be required to have a Legal for Trade NTEP approved balance. This regulation is meant to protect the consumer so they are getting what they paid for when goods are bought and sold by weight. We recommend you contact your Weights & Measures Inspector for the city that the scale will be used in for the exact requirement. You can learn more here.
If you do need Legal for Trade, also referred to as NTEP Approved see the Mettler Toledo JS703C/A (140g x 0.1mg). The Mettler JS Series balance operates on either AC Adapter or standard 8 AA alkaline batteries for 8-15 hours. This is a real selling point over the Ohaus PA84C which can not operate on standard batteries.
Be sure to see the Scientech ZSA Series featuring 80 to 210 gram with 0.1mg resolutions. When US government customers call us saying they must comply with the Buy American Act clause the only similar balance we offer to the PA124 that is made in America would be the Scientech ZSA120. FAR Part 25.003 requirements state that domestic end products are preferred over foreign end products, and the Ohaus Pioneer is not made in the USA, but instead China.
See our most technologically advance weighing instrument we offer - the Sartorius Secura. Secura offers a simple touch screen technology with easy to read and understand I-cons. The Sartorius Secura124-1S allows you to enable SQmin and additional safety weighing features like the ability to program the minimum weight value so when you attempt to weigh samples below a set threshold the weight reading is displayed on screen in red. Built-in level verification, Password Protection, and memory tracking is also available.
The Ohaus Pioneer Series has been upgraded to the new Ohaus Pioneer Pro Series. The new Pioneer Pro has an expanded selection of 24 different models to choose from. Select an Ohaus lab balance according to your laboratory's specific weighing requirements. You can review all of the Ohaus Pioneer digital balances HERE.
We understand purchasing an analytical balance is a major capital expense and if you have any questions give us a call and one of our weighing experts can discuss your weighing application and get you the most affordable balance for your weighing needs.
Before purchasing any analytical balance, be sure you review the AND HR-150AZ designed with a removable, shatterproof breeze break with antistatic coating perfect for challenging weighing applications where contamination is a potential concern. Plus the small 8 x 12 inch footprint design saves you space. Finally, the AND HR-150AZ offers a 5 year warranty while the Ohaus PA124C is only 2 years.
Are you going to be performing density determination of samples? You'll need to purchase the OPTIONAL Ohaus Density Determination Kit. See how to install and use the Ohaus Density Determination Kit. This YouTube video shows the density kit with the Ohaus Adventurer Analytical Balance and the installation is similar to the Pioneer PA124C. You'll see exactly what comes with the kit.
In the YouTube Video above get a general introduction of the Ohaus Pioneer Laboratory Balance.
Below are some videos of a new analytical balance Sartorius just introduced to the market that offers extreme value.
Sartorius Entris analytical balances display increments in 0.002 grains divisions. Long-range competitive shooters (600+ yards) always shoot for an edge over their rivals and one way is to shoot very uniform ammo. Weighing charges, bullets and primers to 0.002gn can make shot velocities more uniform within a shot string. Forget those inconsistent low cost strain gauge scales that weigh the same charge differently each time. If you want to win the competition you need every round to the exact kernel.
In the video above we will walk you through the steps to change the default factory setting of grams to grains. once you make these changes your balance will power up each time in the grains mode. In this demonstration we use the Entris224-1S, but the steps are the same for all Satorius Entris models.
In the video above we demonstrate the Sartorius Entris224-1S analytical balance and how easy calibration is when you purchase the optional calibration mass. The Satorius Entris 4 decimal place balances offer a large draftshield with 3 sliding doors. See the quick settling time as we place calibration weights on the weighing platform. Get a better understanding of what each keypad does and how you can enter into the balance configuration menu to change the factory default setting to better meet your specific weighing requirements. The Sartorius Entris is easy to configure to optimize for your individual weighing application.
Need more accuracy? Do you need a 5 decimal place gram balance? The Sartorius Secura and Quintix semi microbalances are amazing. In the YouTube video above you will see the Sartorius Secura225D-1S semi microbalance [0-120g x 0.01mg] [120-220g x 0.1mg]. We highlight the intuitive operation using the SmartTouch user interface that is so easy to use you'll probably never need to reference the user manual. We also demonstrate the ergonomic draftshield and show how easy it is to dismantle the balance for easy cleaning.
Also you'll get a close up view of the new "collection container". The collection container is designed to keep the spill from entering the lab balance that could cause potential damage to the balance. Sartorius' revolutionary "collection container" features a rimmed design to keep the spill from entering if you happen to spill any liquid or granular samples while weighing.
If the Secura225D-1S is more balance than you need for your weighing application then be sure to see the Secura 125-1S, Sartorius Quintix125D-1S, Sartorius Quintix65-1S or Sartorius Quintix35-1S. Sartorius is our #1 selling laboratory weighing balances since they are the leaders in building high quality weighing instruments.
